Our Story

Why Precious Stone? Why that name? These are two questions I am frequently asked. I am glad to answer and I’m glad to be asked. My Great Grandfather, Wilbert Stone, “Old Wib” was our families beekeeper and I am a Ruby; hence the name Precious Stone! Old Wib was born in 1917 and was an active beekeeper until his death in 2004. At the peak of his beekeeping career he independently managed over 600 hives. Old Wib was a honey producer! He served as President of the Scioto County Beekeepers association and was an active member of the Ohio State Beekeepers Association. As a young boy, my most fond memories come from his honey house where I would assemble frames with my great-grandparents. This sparked my inner desire to be a beekeeper. I am dedicated to honoring Old Wib and his legacy as a Southern Ohio Beekeeper. 

Upon marriage I moved to the little village of Oak Hill, Ohio nestled in Jackson County. Nicole and I have three young children, Mason (6), Parker (4), and our little infant Evan. My wife’s great-grandfather had passed before she was born, but he too was a beekeeper in Jackson, Ohio. You could say we were destined to be in the bee business! It is my hope that our boys will never lose their passion for the honeybee and will keep Precious Stone Honey & Supply for many generations after I am gone! 

Here at Precious Stone Honey & Supply we are happy to be able to provide the Southern Ohio region and surrounding areas with quality raw honey, beekeeping supplies, and products. We are a licensed independent dealer for Kelley Beekeeping and Mann Lake. We can get you any item that both companies stock.
